It has been 14 years since Kim, our fearless leader (truly, she is fearless), left the comfort of a steady paycheck at a top notch design firm to blaze her own trail. Have there been times when the ever-burgeoning operational costs and intense deadlines fueled only by coffee and cold pizza have let a little doubt creep in?
Maaaybe… But more often than not, we are thanking our lucky stars that we get to do what we do!
Over the years we have worked on projects with some of the largest and most respected names in the hospitality and entertainment industries. Being the small firm that we are, it’s always cause to celebrate when any clients, let alone the large and well-known clients, come back with another contract – and they do!
Our clients have trusted us with the ins and outs of their projects, large and small. From a sweet little ice cream shop at Marriott’s Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center, to the combined 2,100-room guestroom and suite renovation at Walt Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Resort, to everything in between.
For these reasons, “gratitude” is our middle name. We’re grateful for our amazing clients and the exciting projects that they invite us to be a part of. We’re grateful for every day that we get to keep the lights on and keep our creative engines humming. We’re grateful for the lean, mean design machine that we have the honor and pleasure of working with each and every day.
With all of the successes that we have built up behind us in the past 14 1/2 years, we are optimistic that there are even bigger successes on the road ahead.
We are on a constant journey to learn more, be more, and do more. We give thanks for everyone who has helped us along the way, and for those who provide us with these amazing opportunities to grow, learn, and experience great accomplishments alongside them.
We can hardly wait to see what wonderful projects and people are to come in the years ahead!
Here is to many more years of KBCO Design!
