Pantone Palettes That Will Be Trending in 2018

Just when we were finally getting used to using the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year, Greenery, the color trends for 2018 have been predicted and let us tell you, they are nothing short of impressive!

According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, there will be a couple of similarities, but some great changes for the future of color palettes! “Metallics…have really moved over into neutrals,” Eiseman said. She also predicts a never-ending love affair with iridescence, because anything translucent is entrancing to the the human eye.

Eisman mentioned another trend for 2018 saying that pastels are fading out and intense colors are coming back into play. This is great news for the eccentric, bright color lovers!

Now, if you are trying to get ahead of the game, make sure to look out for these color palettes. Depending on your own specific style, one of these 6 color palettes are bound to excite your senses!

Far-fetched: Looking for warm and earthy hues? This is the palette for you. Think an abundance of gorgeous rosy tones combined with Tourmaline and Cornsilk. As Eiseman says, this palette “reaches out and embraces many different cultures.”
Intensity: The name alone already tells you how exciting this palette is going to be in your space. The darker, winter-esque colors give off a sophisticated, forest-like vibe, completely balanced with black and gold.

Intricacy: Imagine a classy and rustic, but bright farmhouse. Neutral metallics with accents of dramatic yellow, off-whites and touches of light grays that resemble a cloudy sky. We can’t forget the drastic black that brings the room together through light fixtures, table legs, etc. However you see fit, this palette is best for an upscale, rustic and well-lit vibe.

Resourceful: Blue and orange. Two very distinct and powerful colors that somehow completely complement each other. Because the colors are so individual, they bring their own unique features to the room which work together to pull the entire place together. Eiseman said, “This is quite an interesting color combination. It combines warm and cool tones that you just can’t avoid looking at,” and we can’t wait to see it in action.

TECH-nique: Whenever turquoise is involved, we know it is going to be some eye candy! In addition the pink and purples are held together with Brilliant White and Frosted Almond. This palette is all about tones that, as Eiseman said, “seem to shine from within”.
Verdure: This palette has an undeniable Spanish influence. The blue and purple hues combined with the celery green create a fun, yet cozy and homey feel. The cool tones of blue, green and purple can create a sense of comfort for anyone.

Yes, those are a lot of different, yet amazing options to choose from. But here is the good news…you can try them all! Don’t be afraid to go with your instinct and personal style OR step outside of the box and try something new! We cannot wait to see what you have in store for 2018.
