Twelve and a half years ago I was blessed with a beautiful, healthy, inspiring baby girl. While it’s always easy to see and appreciate the vulnerability of a child, the reality of that felt immeasurably more profound when gazing into the eyes of a life that came from my own flesh and bones.
All any parent wants to do is to protect their child, to have the joy and blessing of loving and holding them for the rest of their days. Any parent’s worst nightmare would be to find that there was an incurable disease infecting their child’s body; stealing minutes, hours, days, possibly a lifetime from the heart of their soul.
To know that they are going to have to suffer and fight for their lives…
You don’t have to be a parent to want to at least TRY to save a child from that kind of agony.
