The Top Design Elements That Create An Impression On Hotel Guests

We could sit here all day and talk about all of the eye-catching things that hotels are doing to create an impression on their guests. Some have live trees, others glass walls, and so on. When we design, we love to have make a statement to capture the attention of our guests.

Windows

The hotel window game is definitely being taken to a new level. Floor-to-ceiling windows in rooms are making guests feel more opulent and classier than ever. Most guests are used to half windows of the past, but the bigger the window, the wider the view. Lots of glass and natural light also makes the room seem a bit larger and allows the guests to see all there is to offer. Of course these windows would not make sense at hotels where another building is blocking the view, but otherwise, we are absolutely loving this trend!

From a Different Century

The Victorian theme is making a comeback. The crown moldings, the extravagant chandeliers and beautiful velvet upholstered chairs can make anyone feel like royalty. Who doesn’t want to feel like that? The great thing about this is that it is all new and remodeled…to look older! Of course it is fun to have vintage furniture and decor, but most of the time it is more fun to actually be able to use those items! Guests love to feel like they are important and who is more important than royalty?

On-site Distilleries and/or Breweries

On-site distilleries and breweries are popping up more and more. Lately, with a sudden burst in the interest of craft beer, hotels are beginning to bring in more than just kegs and custom whiskey. Giving the guests yet another reason to come, stay and explore with tours is always a crowd pleaser. Who wouldn’t want to say, “And they have their own distillery on-site!”? We certainly would and completely support this trend.

Lighting with All the Vibes

Like we have always said, lighting can improve or dampen the mood of the room and of the guests. Hotels are finding new ways and places to throw in lighting to make the space appear more unique. Having a few hanging lights over the bathtub or the bed can put a smile on anyone’s face. In a hotel restaurant, lighting has to be great, especially at night time. If it is too bright or too dark, then guests can get uncomfortable. Finding the perfect combo will absolutely create an impression on hotel guests.

Pool Time

Now the pool is always a “make or break” design element. Some pools are good, but some of them are absolutely mind blowing! Infinity pools are a huge trend now, along with pool bars (seats included). Having a pool bar can keep guests outside but in the hotel vicinity all day! That means drinking and dining at the hotel instead of going out and spending money elsewhere. The pool is crucial when it comes to leaving an impression on a guest.

These are just a couple of design elements that can create an impression on hotel guests. We know there are more, but it seems like these are trending the most and we are not opposed to it. Be on the lookout for some of these elements and pay attention to the impression they leave on you!
