Episode 6 – Home Coming Queen
(Air date: 4/27/22)
Jackie wants to create a family crest. Kim looks at various sketches of Jackie’s grandmother’s family crest, which traces back to Henry III, and coordinates with a graphic designer to fashion a unique and regal new design fit for the Siegel family for generations to come.
Kim details the living room trim. “The panels are all in the French style. Bouquets of flowers, garlands coming down. It’s absolutely stunning. It’s only something you will find in the most luxurious homes.”
Since this room was sprung on the design team at the last minute, they must paint the trim white and return after New Year’s Eve to apply the gold detailing.
Nervous about the house being ready for the party, Jackie gives Rick, the purchasing agent, a few small heart attacks regarding the fireplace and massive TV.
The dining room is in the home stretch, and the custom-painted portraits are being hung. Jackie and Kim go over the final touches to the refinished antiques, wall finishes, drapery, flooring and the other elements of this glorious room.
In the Morning Kitchen, Jackie’s birds arrive…and create an absolute calamity by getting loose and flying everywhere!
David sits with Jackie, Daniel and David Jr., who break the news that, as things exist, the Benihana kitchen won’t work. Hearing David is disappointed, Mark, Bob and Kim discuss working with the engineers to come up with possible options to make this dream a reality.
The day before New Year’s Eve, Kim takes us through the installation of the TV, which is actually a huge wall of LED panels, quite possibly the largest TV ever to be installed in a private residence. The team hustles like mad to install the drapes, furniture and accessories in anticipation of the party.
David is taken on a tour of Versailles, starting with the Morning Kitchen. He’s blown away, stating, “Everything is beyond what I expected!” In the dining room, all David can say is, “Wow!” 20 years in the making, Versailles finally feels like the home Jackie and David have dreamt of for so long. They toast to Victoria, each other and a wonderful New Year.
