Versailles – Orlando, FL

Welcome to Versailles

If you were transfixed by the 2012 documentary The Queen of Versailles, you’ll be eager to dig into the new Discovery+ series, Queen of Versailles Reigns Again, which reunites rapt audiences with Jackie Seigel and her family as they enlist Kim’s help to plan and decorate their 90,000sqf mega-mansion. This would be an easy task for Kim and her team – if Jackie didn’t want it all completed by New Year’s Eve.

The Rooms

OF VERSAILLES

Set amid 10 acres of lakefront property, the country’s largest and most expensive residence is presently planned to include 14 bedrooms, 5 kitchens, 32 bathrooms, a grand ballroom, a British pub, a movie theater, several indoor pools, and much more. Since the project has been delayed for nearly two decades, Kim and her team are given a blank slate to create something magical for each primary space.

The KBCO crew plans and creates designs according to Jackie’s vision for each room, catering to her desired themes, color schemes and practical needs, including incorporating a gold leaf throughout to pay homage to the mansion’s namesake Palace of Versailles.

The

MORNING KITCHEN

Jackie tasks Kim with creating a regal, yet warm kitchen where the family will meet every morning to engage with one another and plan their day. Firsts for the team include installing a heated marble kitchen floor and creating a décor palette that complements a main focal point: a large antique birdcage full of exotic, jewel-toned birds. A magnificent stained-glass window electrifies the theme.

The

BRITISH PUB

The Siegel family wants a space to entertain that showcases the many pieces they imported from the UK, including a handsome heirloom bar. Kim and her team install gorgeous custom-built walnut parquet floors resembling those in France’s Palace of Versailles. Imported pieces blend with new additions to create a space that feels so authentic it’s like stepping across the Atlantic ocean and straight into an English pub.

The

LIVING ROOM

The formal living room boasts as a focal point a magnificent antique fireplace, surrounded by elegant white walls with gold leaf detailing and hand-applied gold and silver trim-work. This level of detailing is demanding, but the results are unique and absolutely stunning. Kim and Jackie travel to North Carolina to consult with a carpet designer who will custom-create a 1000sqft carpet that will tie this elegant marvel together perfectly.

The

DINING ROOM

Jackie and David love the combination of purple accented with gold and silver leaf, and this theme is continued into the formal dining room. Its columns are adorned in these colors, as are wall accents. Kim covers the wall panels in a luxurious Italian damask fabric, frames the windows with deep purple velvet drapes, and breaks up the vast expanses of marble floor with custom-made carpets. Overhead, chandeliers add even more sparkle to this grand and opulent room.
